Regional Natural Park of the Ampezzo Dolomites

On 22nd March 1990, the Regional Law n. 21 of the Veneto, was officially established the regional natural park of the Dolomites.
The protected area goes from the north of  Cortina d’Ampezzo to the border with Trentino-Alto Adige, entering the Fanes – Senes Braies.
The park includes many well-known mountain groups: the Crystal, the Tofane, the top Fanes, Col Bechei and Croda Rossa d’Ampezzo, respectively, divided by Travenanzes valley, Val di Fanes, high Boite Valley and Val Felizon. The valleys are narrow and collected towards the common junction, which is located at the main entrance of the park, and open into vast plateaus for grazing to the higher altitudes. Two other valley gorges form the southern limits of the area: the valley of the Rio Falzarego to the west and to the east Padeon val.

Inside the park there are nineteen mountain refuge and restaurants.
